One can feel the burst of feminism as you look through the latest trends from Paris Fashion Week 2014. Starting from floral prints, tribal beats, street fashion to fur capes and sheer fabrics – these Paris Fashion Week trends will leave you in awe and admiration. Check out the top 7 trends directly from Paris Fashion week 2014 which we absolutely loved!

1. The Art Fest

The most sought after trend this season was an inspiration drawn from abstract art work. The trend was one of the key inspirations at Céline and it was said to be based on Brassaï’s graffiti work. Sketch books were carried like accessories at Chanel. Illustrations that were admired by El Mac were found to be splattered on the works of Prada and the walls of the same.

2. Metallic Pleats

Metallic pleats stole the show this season. The motive behind these creations was to project an empowering personality. A lot of gold work was used and the metallic pleated dresses gave that discreet bling to the entire attire. The dresses and skirts from Dries Van Noten were the center of attraction for Metallic Pleating.

3. Tribal Drum Beats

Another trend that we loved this season were the tribal drum beats. Inspired by the folklore from Africa to Japan,  it was enriching to see tribal jewelry, rich embroidery and graphic prints as well as drapes from all over the world this time. Alexander McQueen and Valentino had this same theme in common as their models walked on the ramp.

4. Flower Prints

Flower

Floral prints are not new but came as a breath of fresh air in the respective presentations. While the pale and delicate flower prints took us back to the Victorian era, the strong colored flowers displayed a sense of wilderness. There was definitely a good mix and contrast. With delicate lace and embroidery work, the trend looked soothing and appeasing to eyes in every from.

 5. Pleats

While we loved the metallic pleats, delicate colored pleats also won over our hearts this season! Combined with sheer fabric, the light pleats looked rich, classy and exuded a godly appearance. They were flowing and smooth to bring out the essence of femininity. Sheer fabric made it to be one of the most elegant looks.

6. Laces

lace

We love laces and this was also one of our favourite trends at the Paris Fashion Week 2014. The intricate lace work on the ramps made the models look ethereal. It almost seemed like an ode to ancient love ballads. Delicate lace work was complemented with sheer transparent fabric that was modest as well as highly trendy. Designers Isabella Marant and Nina Ricci’s creations were applauded unanimously.

7. Biker Jacket

Leather jackets seem to be a perpetual thumbs up in recent times. Marc Jacobs gave the biker jacket an elaborated couture makeover, embellishing it with feathers and flowers. Strong,  powerful yet feminine.  We think that if there is one thing that you must own in your wardrobe, it better be a leather jacket. A leather jacket effortlessly brings out the strong and confident personality in you. Try it!
