Hey guys! Monsoon is here & the weather is really amazing these days. I’m loving it for sure! Having said that, it can be a little tedious to manage the tresses because this is the season when your hair gets super dry and damaged thanks to the excess humidity in the air. So it’s very necessary for you to go for your regular hair spas & protein treatments. As I’ve reviewed earlier on this blog, I totally swear by Jean Claude Biguine’s hair spa sessions. And that’s exactly what I did after I came back from Bangkok earlier this month.
I dropped into JCB for yet another soothing hair spa but this time round, I was introduced to an amazing dry shampoo – Wella’s EIMI Dry Me Shampoo.
Now what is a dry shampoo? It’s a shampoo in powder form, used without the addition of water. What does it do? It absorbs the oil that makes your hair look greasy without drying your scalp out. It also saves your perfectly styled hair from a wash and some subsequent damage. JCB gave me a sample of the Wella EIMI Dry Me Shampoo & I was super keen to try it.
The packaging is modern and fresh. You can carry it in your handbag & spray it just before a party.
How to use it?
- Comb your hair – make sure your hair is dry & there are no tangles.
- Shake the shampoo bottle before spraying. You should hold the bottle 20cm away from your head.
- Lift the top layer of hair and spray underneath at the root so you can hide the white residue. Do not spray directly on top of your head.
- After you apply your dry shampoo, inspect your hair to see if you missed any spots. If you did, you can either add more, or brush through the hair to distribute the product evenly.
- Wait for about 5 minutes for the dry shampoo to absorb the oil from your hair. If you have particularly oily hair, it may take a little longer.
- Brush through your hair – & va va voom! There you have it.
Review
I love Wella’s EIMI Dry Me Shampoo. I repeat I LOVE this. This dry shampoo is based on tapioca & not talc – so it doesn’t leave a powdery residue. What it does do is give you instant volume, without the tackiness that tends to drag your hair down after a while. I sprayed my hair at the roots in a few sections on the top, back and underneath. It gave me a nice volume & I loved the fruity smell. The product, priced at approximately, Rs 2,600, lasted me for a good amount of time, basically till the time I washed it off.
Say if you have just blow dried your hair today & you want the same to last for another 1-2 days, the dry shampoo will help you maintain the blown out styled hair. Also you know at times you have to go for a dinner or party after work but you’re either too lazy or short on time to take a head bath, well, try the Dry Me Shampoo – it’s a great substitute.
