Who doesn’t love an open rooftop setting? And how better to enjoy it over dinner and drinks? Last Friday, I was invited to the newly launched “AT MRP”, a pub & grub concept restaurant, located at the heart of Andheri West, Oshiwara. Set up by Pratap Restaurants (also famous for Pratap Da Dhaba & Wild Dining), their brand new restaurant is something you should watch out for. The name comes from the fact that alcohol is served here at flat MRP rates!
The restaurant is divided into an indoor and outdoor setting. The small indoor area is where you could chill over drinks & starters and there is also a small platform dedicated for standup performances and open mics.
The outdoor area, where I was seated, is relatively much bigger in size and has a cabana like seating arrangement and this is where you can dine, drink and even enjoy some hookah! I honestly loved the vibe of the place – it was relaxed and easily seemed like a place where I’d love to hang out with my friends. The lighting was dim but it set the right tone for a typical lounge-y-vibe. For me, it was like being in a restaurant but enjoying the ambiance of a lounge.
In terms of food, the restaurant had many options and let me tell you, each and every quantity was huge!! What stood out for me were the sarson ka saag tarts, tandoori momos, pizza sticks, pav bhaji fondue, prawn momos and the chicken biriyani. I was impressed by the fusion concept and as you can see from the pictures, the presentation was also excellent.
There were other dishes like a simple home-made type pasta, a hummus platter and bunny chow which were just about alright I’d say.
For desserts, I loved the gulab jamun with rabdi! I swear I am going to go back to this place just to have this – it was out of the world !!! And in terms of drinks, AT MRP has everything from whisky, vodka, wine, rum etc to a number of cocktails, mocktails and soft drinks, all served at MRP rates.
Overall, I highly recommend you visit this place, especially all you booze lovers. Bhavishya Pratap, the owner, and his entire team were impeccably warm and hospitable. I’m sold!
