For my outfits this month, I decided to go all corporate: sleek dresses, jumpsuits and coordinates. The irony here is that I do not go to an office. I do not have to wear formal/corporate clothing and work everyday. There are days I literally go for shoots in track pants and tees. So, it is nice how I get to wear all these gorgeous outfits for my episodes. On my Instagram, it gives everyone an impression that I am all properly dressed everyday for work. The reality is, I am so much happier in my shorts and tee. Somehow I feel more liberated as an artist when I am dressed comfortably like in rompers or like a cropped top and leggings.. that is the real me. What I wear to dance – that’s the real me. What I wear chilling at home – that’s the real me. To give you an example, this is how I dress when I am behind the camera!
However, that doesn’t mean I do not enjoy putting together my looks for my shoot. Oh I absolutely do!! Who does not want to look good? But that’s Ritwika – on camera! It’s a different side of me. For this month, I don’t have a particular favourite look because I am in love with ALL my looks from July. Every outfit just made me feel like I work in a top notch MNC, sitting in my own personal cabin with a MacBook, sipping on cold coffee and giving instructions to people. I felt like a boss lady! If I had to really nit-pick and choose one, I’d go for my look in the purple dress. There’s just something so powerful about this colour. It’s not over-imposing like red but it’s not as subservient as pink. It’s a nice balance of both. It’s like – ‘I am here to rule but not to boss around’.
And I felt closest to being myself in this purple dress. Do you like it?
