How do you like your revenge served? With a little poison on the side? Guyssss …. get ready for an epic story of revenge and drama this April as ZEE5 is back with the second season of Poison! Yes, Poison 2 is a sequel to the original ZEE5 series Poison. But fret not, if you have not seen the first season, that’s okay!! Because the stories of both seasons are not connected but the theme remains the same – a desire for revenge! While the first season marked the digital debut of Arbaaz Khan, this one will see Aftab Shivdasani stepping into the web series bandwagon for the very first time.
Now, I simply loved Aftab during his Kasoor days! He was so good in that film. Kasoor was also a thriller and quite ahead of its time. Aftab even won a Zee Cine Award award for his performance in Kasoor. Therefore, I can’t wait to see him back in yet another thriller; I’m sure he will nail it. Aftab was last seen in Great Grand Masti in 2016. He also did Bhaskar Oru Rascal, a Tamil film in 2018 and Kottigobba 3, a Kannada movie in 2019. But in the Hindi space, he is making a comeback after 4 years, that too on our digital screens with Poison 2!
Well, I am sure many of you might have already seen the poster of Poison 2, which is totally sizzling! And if you are wondering who is the leading lady in the poster with Aftab…..well, say hello to South Indian actress – Diva Raai Laxmi who also happens to be making her digital debut with Poison 2. Raai Laxmi is best known for her Malayalam film ‘Christian Brothers’ and Tamil horror-comedy ‘Kanchana’. She also made her debut in Hindi films with Julie 2.
Poison 2 also stars Pooja Chopra, Gautam Gulati, Vin Rana, Rahul dev, Zain Iman, Asmita Sood and Taher Shabbir. The series has been directed by Vishal Pandya who had earlier directed erotic thrillers like Hate Story 2, Hate Story 3, Wajah Tum Ho and Hate Story 4. This also happens to be Vishal’s digital directorial debut.
Honestly, the Poison 2 teaser link does not reveal much about the plot line of the web series. And I am actually happy that they kept it that way because these days, too many films and shows reveal a lot in their teasers or trailers. And especially because Poison 2 is a thriller, I am glad they left a few things for us to guess.
So, all that we know is – there are 3 players and a new threat. Now who are the players? Who is the threat? While putting up a photo of the Poison 2 poster, director Vishal Pandya also posted this on his Twitter account: “Every setback is a set up for a comeback”. Interesting right? Well, there are too many hints and I guess we will only know who poisons who in the coming month!
So, mark your calendars people! You can stream all episodes of Poison 2 on 30 April 2020 on ZEE5.
