The warmer weather is on its way and it’s time to unleash that summer wardrobe. Now would be a great time to start putting together some stylish looks and incorporating some of the season’s hottest trends. Spotlight presents to you some top fashion trends for summer 2013!

Summer is undoubtedly the season of colours. Bold neon colours have been hot on the fashion scene for quite some time now but not everyone feels comfortable pulling off these shades. Nonetheless, we say forget the pastels and open your arms to bright and happy shades of lemon yellow, cobalt blue, fuchsia pink and emerald green that are perfect for this summer. These shades are not as bold as neon nor are they as soft as pastels, but bright enough to add personality to your entire look!

With so many styles to choose from, shorts are a must for the summer season. Whether you have long legs or short, are skinny or curvy, there’s sure to be a style to suit you. My favourite? Denim micros from Cotton On!

Personally, I am a sucker for high platforms and wedges. This summer opt for something crazy in the shoe department. Bright and bold patterns, decorative designs, prints and metallic colors are apt for the spring/summer season.
