Spa Review : Four Fountains Spa

Hey guys, how’re you all doing? Well, sorry I have been MIA for quite a while now. Promise to be more regular. Well, I just shifted to my new home in Mumbai and I love it. I especially love sitting beside this full length window and just love gazing the streets of Lokhandwala all day long. My favourite spot at my new home. You like?

Well, I still need to pick up a few stuff for the house and then I am pretty much set (..dying to blog about it)!  I will also be going back to school in a few weeks’ time – pursuing my post-graduation in communications. So yes, there are a lot of things happening at the moment and I have been very busy. Now what made my day last week …

About a few days back, the marketing team at Four Fountains Spa (Mumbai) contacted me to very kindly offer a complimentary therapy at their spa (psst.. a day of pampering was perhaps just what I needed, so imagine my delight!).

Tucked away at a posh corner in Bandra is the Four Fountains Spa- India’s largest chain of affordable day spas. They offer a variety of spa therapies for de-stressing, de-toxification, immunity and beauty for men and women. These therapies include over 20 body massages, body polishes, body wraps and facials that are priced between Rs. 599 to Rs. 1599.

The marketing team had already booked an appointment for me and I arrived 15 minutes early. When I entered the spa, I was impressed by their hospitable service and calming ambience. Honestly, I did not get time to figure out which therapy I should go for. But the front line staff asked me a few set of questions and provided me with a detailed explanation of all the recommended therapies.

I opted for a 60 min aroma therapy massage. I was told that an aroma therapy massage not only reduces mental tension but the usage of wheatgerm, jojoba, almond and extra virgin olive oil tends to give you soft, glowing radiating skin at the end of it.

So I was led to the relaxation area after filling up a generic health questionnaire. Water and towels were in plentiful supply and the spa was clean and well-presented throughout. The aroma therapy massage was definitely relaxing. What more – it was raining outside and the temperature in the room was not too cold, not too warm – just nice. And yes, I did fall asleep. I had a nice therapist and she explained to me what all products she was using for the therapy. She used French Lavender and Ylang Ylang essential oils. French Lavender is known to reduce anxiety while Ylang-Ylang relaxes the nerves. The essential oils enter your body through the pores of your skin and the aroma recharges the mind and removes mental exhaustion. After the spa was over, I took a nice warm shower and was offered a hot cup of herbal tea along with some extra goodies from the Four Fountains Spa.

Overall, I found it quite a relaxing and enjoyable experience. Definitely something I would try again.

Here are some tips before heading off for a spa:

* Eat at least 3-4 hours before a spa/ massage session.
* Be on time. If you arrive in a frenzied & rushed state, it will take longer for you to relax.
* Talk to your therapist and give correct health information. If you don’t want to remove all your clothing, discuss it with the therapist. Wear what you will be comfortable in and speak up if you have any feedback on the amount of pressure, speed of movement, room temperature, music volume, or lighting.
* Allow for some personal, quiet time after your massage session is over (if possible).

So yes friends, do try out the Four Fountains Spa. They have outlets in Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Bangalore, Pune and Gurgaon. And remember if you liked this post, don’t forget to like Spotlight’s new facebook page – www.facebook.com/spotlightxoxo
