Yes, finally it’s done… Thank you all for putting up with the “site maintenance” notice for the last couple of days. I thank you all for your patience and encouragement!
My site was going through a slight makeover … I say slight because I have kept the original theme intact. (You know how attached I am to the old blog… I designed it myself and was kinda tearing up to say bye to the magazine backgrounds…. boohoo)
Honestly I didn’t want an extremely different look for the blog… drastic change can be scary at times. So keeping the basic layout of the blog same, I just made a couple of additions and fine changes to the theme.
So here we go – I am extremely excited to present to you Spotlight’s new look. *Emotional Moment*
Say hello again to SPOTLIGHT !!! (psst..if you didn’t know this by now, my Blog is called Spotlight… ya, fondly called with a xoxo at the back)
Now before I let you explore the blog on your own, couple of changes I want to bring to your attention!
1) SECTIONS
You might have noticed on the homepage that we’ve clearly divided up the blog into three sections – The Sliders, Featured Posts and Latest Posts. So basically the sliders on my blog have become bigger and better. The sliders will contain really exclusive stories + all my favorite styles/outfit posts. Featured posts will contain 3 selected articles (of paramount interest) from 3 of my Spotlight categories – Fashion & Beauty, Lifestyle and Entertainment. There will be new features every 2-3 days. Lastly, the latest posts section will showcase all the new articles with the very latest posts on top.
2) The LOGO
The logo is new! Well we changed the fonts ; it’s classy & gives a fresh feeling. I have added the tagline “Best of Films, Fashion & Beauty” and incorporated hugs & kisses (xoxo) with my signature at the bottom. Also if you noticed, now all the titles of the articles (under latest posts) on the homepage are in PINK .. You like?
3) THREE CATEGORIES
Spotlight is primarily a fashion & film blog. But over the last year, I have shared a lot about beauty, travel, food, events, reviews etc…. So there are 3 distinct categories on Spotlight.
Fashion & Beauty
This category will consist of My Style Book, Fashion Trends, Beauty Reviews
Entertainment
This section will have scoops from Bollywood, Television, Gossips and Film/Trailer Reviews!
Lifestyle
The last category will comprise travel features, food reviews, work/career, events, culture, product reviews, events, culture and anything I feel that is worth a mention. Random posts and stories will also feature in this section.
4) BEHIND THE SPOTLIGHT
Now here’s a mega cool makeover for the “Behind The Spotlight” page. As you might know, I am kinda into a few things – I host, write, blog, act etc …. So I’ve always remained confused as to how I could incorporate my entire profile (videos, pictures, work history etc) all in one page. But I somehow managed to do it & it looks pretty neat, doesn’t it?
5) MY TWO SPOTLIGHT AMBASSADORS
In case you haven’t met them, these are my two Spotlight girls (animated versions of me!)
