So the past few days literally felt like festivals for me because I received lovely invites to some exciting events. One of which was the stylish designer popup of the month – the Stylista Fashion Preview. Stylista invited me to the preview of the new designer collaborative collections featuring exclusive designs from Monica Dogra, Masaba and Shivan & Narresh.
The event was held at the Olive Bar & Kitchen, Mahalaxmi Race Course in Mumbai and I simply just can’t stop raving about this place. The Bohemian décor of the restaurant is sure to remind you of Goa. Comfortable furniture, sand and pebbles under your feet (only for the outdoors) and an overall, very fashionably designed restaurant! (psst.. apparently this is also where half the Bollywood eats. An apt choice of venue, I must say!)
Along with the above three designer collections, Stylista also showcased their trendy private label Stylista Original.
Check out some snaps from the fashion preview:
Shivan and Narresh’s collection had a really upbeat vibe with their signature bold colour blocking. The clothes were colourful, trendy and bright.
I especially loved this swim suit by Shivan & Narresh.
I loved how quirky Masaba’s collection was. Based on the idea of “common man”, Masaba’s clothes had motifs ranging from camera, dagger, television, typewriter and bicycle. They were mostly in black and white with a dash of neon pink, green and orange complementing the designer’s work. My favourite was the cute jumpsuit, right below.
Singer-Actress Monica Dogra, ventured into fashion and this is her debut collection. I loved how easy and breezy Monica’s collection was. It had a bit of a bohemian touch and surely impressed me! I had a few favourites from Monica’s. I loved this Kaftan and the photograph printed on the dress is actually a picture she shot herself. How cool is that?
I also loved her city of bombay funky cropped tops!
Stylista Original also had some really different stuff. What caught my eye? The two-way blazer and a cute pair of colorful shorts.
Overall, the preview was amazing. Oh did I mention everything above is under Rs 6,000? Yep!
And everything that you see above will be available online at stylista.com from August end.
So after the exciting preview, Lynn and I got a little hungry and what better way to recharge those batteries than to have a scrumptious Japanese meal at Olive? (Shopping and snacking – every Stylista’s favourite activities)
We found a cozy corner to sit inside – see the cushions? The wall decorations caught my eye as well.
And since we were at one of Mumbai’s greatest architectural landmarks, there was no way we were going back home without actually visiting the Race course.
Mahalakshmi Race Course is a renowned horse racing track and is considered to be one of the best racecourses in Asia. Wealthy business tycoons, actors, celebrities and other people belonging to the upper strata of society attend the races.
More than 100 horses are trained here & they have some really interesting names. Daisy Princess fascinated me the most! Hehe.
Overall, it was a well spent day – amazing place, food and clothes!
Xoxo
