Where To Go Shopping In Bangkok

Shopping in Bangkok can be crazy!! Now everyone knows about the Chatuchak weekend market and the floating market in Bangkok – they are very famous amongst tourists for shopping. However in my recent trip to Thailand, I mainly went to a couple of malls and here are some places I’d love to recommend.

If you are looking to do some affordable shopping, step into Platinum mall – this is six levels of insane shopping!! This is actually a wholesale mall, so the more you buy, the cheaper is it! You can mix and match anything inside the store and just remember to bargain your way through.

Similar to Platinum shopping mall is the MBK Centre. Here again, you will finds loads of products ranging from clothes, shoes, souvenirs, handbags and lots fake branded bags. I am completely against purchasing a fake designer bag but to be honest, when I saw some of these replicas, they were made to look so real and elegant. I was shocked.

If you want to explore the Bangkok night market, then I’d suggest go the Asiatique Riverfront.  This is the place where people come to shop & eat. The stuff you’d find here are very similar to platinum + MBK centre combined. But since the night market was created for tourists, the prices here are a little higher than the other two. You will also find many restaurants here by the riverfront. Some of the boats/yachts have built in eateries & bars too.

If you prefer brands to street shopping, then fret not because the Amazing Thailand Grand Sale, ATGS 2016 has kicked off and a lot of high street brands are on crazy sale in the higher-end malls. Topping my list of favourite luxury malls in Bangkok would be the Emquartier Mall. This mall has a distinctly futuristic design like a spiral walkway with nearly 50 restaurants, offices, event halls and a cool atrium garden – completed with a waterfall. Here you’d find high street trendy brands like H&M, Zara and Gap.

Connected to the Emquartier mall is the Emporium mall. This one is an out and out luxury mall. You will find numerous international labels such as Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Dior, Prada, Hermes, Armani, Cartier and Mont Blanc. Try your luck – you might just get a discount on one of these brands during the ATGS 2016.
