The first trailer of Bombay Talkies, a movie made up of four short films, which celebrates 100 years of Indian cinema, was released yesterday on YouTube. This is certainly expected to be a power-packed entertainer. And why not? Bombay Talkies has been put together by four extremely different and talented film-makers with top-notch performers like Amitabh Bachchan, Rani Mukerji, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Saqib Saleem, Randeep Hooda and Katrina Kaif. Ranbir Kapoor is the narrator of the film.
Interestingly, each film was made with a budget of 1.5 crores each and the four short films have been individually named:
1) Sheila Ki Jawaani directed by Zoya Akhtar
2) Star directed by Dibakar Banerjee
3) Murabba directed by Anurag Kashyap
4) Ajeeb Daastan Hai Yeh directed by Karan Johar
While we do not have much information about the other stories yet, we can tell you that Rani Mukherji will be seen as a journalist once again in Bombay Talkies. She is paired opposite Randeep Hooda and plays a sexually repressed wife. Intriguing, isn’t it ? Well, we love the sizzling chemistry between Hooda and her. Fresh pairing and may I say, Rani looks gorgeous! Shot in Bandra and Dahisar in Mumbai, the film also stars Saqib Saleem, of Mere Dad Ki Maaruti fame.
Set to release on May 13, check out the first theatrical trailer of Bombay Talkies below and tell me what you think!
