I’ve Got Your Number by Sophie Kinsella
Over the last weekend, I began reading Sophie Kinsella’s “I’ve Got Your Number” and Sophie is definitely now, on my must-read list for romantic comedy! The book was unpredictable, fast paced and truly engaging.
It will really keep you up giggling to yourself with its witty insights into a girl who just cannot stop interfering in a stranger’s life.
Funny thing is – As I continued reading, I could actually picture this story on the big screen, made into an entrancing rom-com movie! The characters are genuine and magnetic and the plot is light but fulfilling!
Plot :
Poppy Wyatt’s life is turned upside down the night she loses her engagement ring and her phone is stolen. Fate seems to be giving her a reprieve when she spies an abandoned, fully functional phone in the litter bin the same night. In desperate need of a number so she can retrieve her fiances’ family heirloom, she decides that finders are keepers. Except for the irate and arrogant businessman, Sam Hoxton, who has all important business emails delivered to the phone.
Poppy can’t stop herself from nosing through all his emails and helping out the curt and socially inept businessman, Sam. She fixes up his dentist’s appointments, sends out an email to everyone in his company, writes a condolence poem for a dog, signs him up for a charity run and even goes through his girlfriend’s emails.
And guess what ? The arrangement works!! (despite the two having very different styles of communication). Sam cringes at Poppy’s obsession with smiley faces and Poppy shudders at Sam’s two-word responses (actually one-word responses, since the other is his name) — and that’s when he bothers to even answer an e-mail.
Meanwhile, Poppy’s hiding her bare left hand from her fiance and his parents (who really don’t need another reason to hate her). She’s also planning for her wedding, fielding mysterious phone calls and in the midst of it all, falls in love with Sam, who always seems to be there for her when she backs herself into a corner (which happens a lot). Sam, on the other hand, does seem more relaxed than he used to be. And … appreciative.
So what happens next? Is Sam as equally attracted to her as she is to him? What can Poppy do apart from letting him get on with his life while she figures out what happened to hers.

Mmhh as I said, I thoroughly enjoyed reading the book. Thought of the day. Can love be found just in a ring… brrrring? Trust me, you won’t be able to put down this one till the last page!
