When it comes to cruising – you can’t classify it as merely a form of transportation because this is a full-fledged vacation WHILE you’re on the go. Enormous ocean liners, innumerable days at sea and you’re in the midst of the most luxurious accommodation – perfect for those who love to mix land travel with time on the water. So, when I was invited to tour the Regent Seven Seas Cruises’ Voyager, I could hardly say no. Regent Seven Seas Cruises’ Voyager is part of the Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings (NCLH) brand. The brand owns the contemporary freestyle cruising line, Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL), the upper-premium cruise line, Oceania Cruises (OCI) and the all-inclusive luxury line, Regent Seven Sea Cruises (RSSC).
The Regent Seven Seas Cruises’ Voyager which arrived in Mumbai yesterday as part of the Taste of the East (Singapore to Dubai) sojourn, commenced in Singapore and will end in Dubai in the coming month. It’s a 20 night cruise itinerary which includes KL, Penang, Phuket, Myanmar, Cochin, Mangalore, Goa, Mumbai, Muscat and Abu Dhabi. This one was berthed at Port Ballard Pier in Mumbai.
Luxury is definitely riding a new wave with this one –as if the grand exterior wasn’t enough, the interiors of the cruise were nothing short of elegant – With beautiful carpeted floors and woodwork on every staircase landing, gorgeous chandeliers and corridors decked up with tastefully chosen artwork, I knew I was in for a fantastic tour.
During the walk-around, we were taken to different parts of the cruise – the lounge, theatre, library, spa, gym and the seven restaurants including the flagship Compass Rose, laidback La Veranda, American icon Prime 7 and decadent French favourite, Signatures.
We got a chance to dine at Compass Rose and it was indeed a gastronomic treat. The service was highly personalized and excellent. We were served a wonderful 3-course meal.
Post the tour and a glass of fresh fruit juice, NCLH announced the opening of their first two offices in India. Also for the first time since 2002, NCL makes a comeback to Asia. Norwegian Star will make Mumbai a seasonal homeport with its maiden call in November 2016 and offer two sailings till March 2017. Don’t forget to book your tickets early.
Also a quick note here – this one’s an all-inclusive luxury line which means once you pay for the cruise fare, you’d not have to bear any additional charges for any services including wi-fi, spa & food etc. But appointments are a must! There are plenty of activities that happen on board which include water activities, theatrical productions, live music & unlimited free shore excursions. And for shopaholics, the options for retail therapy onboard are abundant. But for me personally – my favourite part of the Regent Seven Seas Cruises’ Voyager was most definitely the upper deck on the 11th floor. It was simply surreal.
Now let’s get to my outfit. As it begins to get hotter, all I can dream of is escaping to the beach, sun and sea.This beautiful dress is from Haute Curry, Shoppers Stop. Although there were several options to choose from at Shoppers stop, I particularly loved the print, the colours and the uneven length of the dress which gave it a very summery vibe. And needless to say, it’s so comfortable.
Well this summer, I have been also attracted to a lot of Indian inspired prints – if you want, you can also team this dress up with a pair of leggings to give it a more desi churidaar look but I prefer it as a dress with simple sandals and minimal jewellery. This look got me a lot of praises and I simply cannot wait to try something from Haute Curry, once again!
