As the country slowly emerges from the lockdown have you guys ever wondered how will the new normal look at a salon? Due to the heightened importance about hygiene and cross-contamination, salons are said to be adapting to the new norm: PPEs, continuous washing of hands and of the space, and crowd control. Well, I got a chance to experience a session first hand when Envi Salon and Spa invited me for an experiential. I was invited for a hair cut and hair spa and I must say, I was really happy with the experience.

Firstly, pre-booking is important during these times in order to ensure safety. So, make sure you call and book a slot before visiting. I opted to visit the Envi Salon & Spa, Malad Inorbit Mall branch. As soon as I entered, a staff member took my temperature, gave me a fresh mask and shoes covers. They sanitized all the seats before I sat on them. The aesthicians santised their hands constantly. From what I observed, the salon took the necessary precautions during these Covid times.
So, I started with a relaxing L’Oreal Hair Spa. It lasted for about 45 minutes. The stylist mixed a scoop of the nourishing cream, with one vial of the scalp concentrate. He then applied the mix with a brush to my scalp and worked it to the ends of my hair. After that, it was time for a quick 10 minutes relaxing head massage.
During my treatment, the staff members periodically checked with me if I was comfortable.
Post the massage, the stylist wrapped my head in a hot towel for steam, for about 10 minutes or more. He then rinsed my hair with water and gave me a stylish layered haircut. I must say the hair cut was really necessary, especially since I got it after almost 6 months of lockdown.
Honestly, my hair felt nourished and smelt heavenly after the treatment. I was initially really skeptical of going to the salon, considering how risky it is to go out during the rising number of cases. But I think the salon took good care of all the sanitisation protocols. Overall, I was satisfied with my experience at Envi Salon & Spa. If you live around Andheri/Goregaon/Malad, do give it a shot!
