Usually we have the phone numbers of only a few restaurants and we tend to only order from those selective places.
Today I would like to share my experience of ordering food online via a platform which is easy, secure and gives customers a variety of food choices. And you know what the best part is – this food portal accepts BOTH cash on delivery and online payment. Most restaurants in India only accept COD; as a result sometimes when we are low on cash, we are unable to order food home. So taking e-commerce to a whole new level, this particular platform delivers your favourite food hassle free!

So basically, Foodpanda is an online food delivery portal that makes ordering food easy, fast and simple. It offers an online marketplace with a staggering selection of restaurants around your area. You can order your favorite meals online or via the Foodpanda app on your smart phone. Foodpanda processes the order to the restaurant that then delivers the food to your doorstep. All you have to do is to simply enter your location and search for cuisine type, restaurants or even price range. The restaurant index also includes address and delivery hours. Cash on delivery and online payment options are available.
Does Foodpanda deliver in my city/country?
Well, Foodpanda operates in more than 25 countries. As of now in India, it operates in more than 10 cities including Kolkata, Delhi, Gurgaon, Noida, Faridabad, Ghaziabad, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Pune, Bangalore, Ahmedabad and Chandigarh with 2000 network restaurants.
Just click a button and your food will arrive – Here’s the process:
- Enter your location on the home page. Browse from the extensive list of restaurants that deliver to your area and pick a restaurant.
- Browse the menu and select the items you will like to order.
- Click on the “Order Now” button, enter your delivery address and follow the checkout instructions.
- Foodpanda will send you an email and SMS confirming your order and delivery time.
My experience:
I was craving for pizza all week long but each time I called the Pizza Hut restaurant directly, the lines were engaged. So I logged onto Foodpanda to check out what the site is all about. As a first time user, I had to do a quick registration and verify my mobile number. I had to first enter my location (where I wanted the delivery).
Upon entering my location, I was shown a list of restaurants and was so happy to find “Pizza Hut” as one of the options! Woohoo!
So I placed my order from “Pizza Hut” via the portal. The process was really quick and simple. The website is quite user-friendly but in case you need any technical help, there is a “live chat” option on the website that will attend to all your queries.
After placing the order I got an immediate confirmation email from Foodpanda. Following which, I got a confirmation call and sms from the restaurant. I ordered at 12.48pm and at 1.40pm, I received my yummilicious chicken and cheese pizza! The actual delivery time (52 minutes) was slightly longer than what was given on the website (40 minutes) but the restaurant manager had called me to inform about the slight delay. HonestIy, I feel that the idea is fabulous. It makes ordering food so much easier. Especially for people who are always on the go and hardly have time to cook or take away, Foodpanda is a great option. There are no extra delivery charges and the ordering process is simple and easy. Perhaps Foodpanda could provide frequent customers with different incentives in order to make them order repeatedly via their portal. What say?
