“If clothes maketh the man, he would cease to exist when he undresses” – That’s the tagline behind the HUEMN brand, a label which has some lovely sari-inspired creations. The Sari/Saree has evolved significantly over the past years and we have seen different variations of it. HUEMN is a label owned by designers Pranav Mishra and Shyma Shetty and the duo have presented sarees as an agglomeration of international style, traditional aesthetics and fusion embroidery. Their LFW’13 collection of Sarees was futuristic with a strong emphasis on the finish. What I particularly love about their outfits was the simplicity yet maintaining a level of boldness. Sonam Kapoor posted a few lovely “behind-the-scenes” pictures on Instagram today! She was seen attending the 66th Cannes International Film Festival in a grey and black saree-inspired Huemn colour-blocked dress. Styled by sister Rhea Kapoor, Sonam completed her look with her favourite Suhani Pittie gold earrings and Lanvin flats. Make-up artist Namrata Soni helped Sonam perfect the look for her first appearance at Cannes. Namrata also tweeted, “Cannes day 1 gettin Sonam kapoor ready for interviews.” Make-up was kept simple and hair neatly pulled back. We like!
About Huemn
HUEMN is not for those who want to create an identity and image with the looks that they choose, but for fashion products that seamlessly translate the aesthetic values shaped by the sum total of experiences in a person’s life. It is sophisticated, easy-wear clothing for the self-assured.
It is the garment that picks you because of what you are about, and not the other way around.
