Hello 2016 …
Now it almost seems like I am back after a long hiatus & I won’t deny that last year has been challenging and a lot of my time was taken up at work. Looking back at 2015, I have come to realise that we can’t stop things, people and life from changing. And honestly, I’m filled with a sense of gratitude.
2015 has been a rather fulfilling year for me – a good one, professionally. I was back on stage doing what I love the most – acting with a bunch of talented people. I had my first ever chat show with my name and finally lived my decade old dream of presenting a lifestyle show on a leading channel. ‘Aspire’ definitely topped the list of highs in 2015 and what followed thereafter were opportunities to meet some amazing people in the industry, learning a lot about production and grasping many off/on-camera skills– things which you can’t quite learn from anywhere else but on the job. I was pleasantly surprised at my multi-tasking abilities!
There were of course a bunch of things that could have made this year a major heart breaker for me, there were things that didn’t quite go like they could have, should have. I lost my grandfather this year and it made me realise the significance of my loved ones in my life. I recognized a number of things about people, in general.. Of course, this did not come easy – I learnt the hard way. I realised that you can’t keep doing what others tell you to do, no matter how right they might be. You cannot learn from anyone else’s experiences & you can’t fulfill your wishes if you are always thinking about what’s ‘socially acceptable’. Your mistakes should be your own.
And I just got to say that I’ve only emerged stronger & more grounded.
Whether it is personally or professionally, I do not regret any decisions I’ve made.
Looking forward, 2016 is going to be a crucial year for me. The objective is to go all out, for myself- for the reason why I’ve left family, home back in Singapore. To fulfil a dream.. I’ve also maintained that it’s never too late and there is no dearth of inspiration when you are truly passionate about something.
The blog turns 3 this year and I definitely want to promise all of you that I will regularly update the blog and post more frequently. You guys have been with me throughout my journey and I can’t thank you enough for the same.
Well I cannot wait to own 2016 already! It’s going to be another crazy year but I wouldn’t have it any other way.
So, wishing you all a very happy new year people & keeping the festive spirit in mind, I decided to do an out & out party look, something which I’ve not done on Spotlight before. These photos are also a part of my new portfolio. You’re the first ones to see this set! 🙂
