I have been emphasizing this so much that the world is just coming closer & closer. Nowadays, you get everything with just a click of a button. But who would have thought that we’d see the beauty space evolve so quickly all thanks to technology. A couple of weeks ago, I had the pleasure to avail beauty services from Timesaverz and get pampered at home. Timesaverz basically gets curated service providers to your doorstep for various home services ranging from cleaning, pest control, repairs, handyman jobs, laundry, and beauty services. They’ve got an app as well and you can even avail a service by logging onto their website. The idea behind Timesaverz is very basic – spend your time well, perhaps following your passions and doing things you actually love rather than running around for mundane tasks.
So when I logged into the Timesaverz website, I checked out the beauty section and there are a number of treatments ranging from waxing, facial, manicure and even massages. You’ve to select the service which you want – it will show you the amount that it is worth & then you have to fill in your address, the date & time you want to avail that particular service. Shortly after, you will receive a text message on your phone with a confirmation + the name of the Timesaverz agent who’s going to come to your place. I opted for full legs + full hands waxing & a head oil massage which amounted to approx. Rs 1000, pretty reasonable in my opinion.
At the scheduled day and time, the beautician duly arrived at my home, neatly dress in a Timesaverz Tshirt and jeans. She carried a bag which was well equipped with all the necessary products, tools and disposable sheets. My only concern was that my home shouldn’t be left in a mess after she leaves because I had heard of stories whereby beauticians do not clean up after their services.
So anyway, I started off with waxing first. My beautician, Megha, had a very pleasant personality. She neatly placed a white sheet on the floor and kept the waxing jar, towel, knife, powder, spray bottles and strips on it.
When it finally came to the process, Megha took her time and did a clean & neat job. She didn’t rush through the service & that’s something which I particularly noted because I’ve had bad experiences of bruises after a wax session simply because the beautician was rushing through the entire time. But this lady was really careful. The waxing session lasted for approximately 45 minutes.
Post the waxing session, I was looking forward to a nice head oil massage. Well, overall, the massage was not bad. I enjoyed it but I didn’t realise how much oil was actually being applied on my head. It took me 3 washes in 3 days to get rid of all the oil completely. To top it up, it was quite a thick and rather strong smelling oil. It wasn’t the beautician’s fault ; I should have paid more attention or told her not to use all the oil in the bowl. So here’s a tip for all you ladies out there – make sure you are very clear with your instructions and what you want when it comes to beauty services.
Nonetheless, Megha did a gentle and considerate job with the massage. She kept on checking the pressure level. The massage lasted for 30 minutes. The only thing I didn’t quite like about this was the choice of oil and the amount that was put on my head. Post the session, Megha was quick to clean up everything and I was glad that my house wasn’t in a mess. I was asked to rate Megha out of 5 stars & while I felt the service overall was more of 3.5/5 but her pleasing personality compelled me to give her a 5/5 star rating.
