What’s Happening At The IIFA 2013 ??
After rocking Singapore in June 2012, the International Indian Film Awards (IIFA) is all set to mesmerize Macau with an action-packed itinerary this year. I still remember a friend & I headed for the glitzy IIFA 2012 last year and from the pictures alone you can tell that we had an amazing time!

This year IIFA will be held on the 6th of July 2013 in beautiful city of Macau. Here’s what to expect and check out some exclusive stills of the stars at IIFA 2013.
RELIVE THE 80s & 90s MAGIC
Get ready to re-live the 80s & 90s magic as from what we hear, actress Sridevi is all set to make her first ever appearance on the IIFA stage for a dance-off with ace choreographer Prabhudeva. We simply can’t wait to see this performance! Sridevi will always be known for her famous dance numbers like “Mere Haathon Mein”, “Morni Baaga Ma Dole”, “Naino Mein Sapna” and “Main Naagin Tu Sapera”. Prabhudeva, on the other hand, is an excellent dancer and choreographer. This is going to be a very exciting item. I clearly remember in IIFA 2012, there was a dance-off between Shahid Kapoor and Prabhudeva. Shahid danced to the beats of famous South Indian songs and was later joined by Prabhudeva on stage. Both of them matched up brilliantly & we just couldn’t take our eyes off them.
Adding to the glitz factor is none other than the Dancing Diva herself – Madhuri Dixit! She is going to be grooving to her latest hit Ghaagra from Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and other endless hit songs from 90s and early 2000. Madhuri is one actress who has an excellent range of dance numbers in her portfolio. Well, quite obviously because she was the ultimate dancing queen of her time. .we say nothing less than “PERFECT” *in true madz style* !
PERFECT HOSTS
Shahid Kapoor returns as the IIFA host this year once again but guess who will be accompanying him? Well it’s none other than Shah Rukh Khan! SRK had hosted IIFA almost eight years ago and this time round, he managed to make time in between his Chennai Express promotions and back to present the show alongside Shahid. Apart from the silly jokes, I thought both of them did a cute job at the Screen Awards 2011. What do you think?

NEWBIES ON THE ROLL
Parineeti Chopra, who had swept away all the awards last year including the IIFA Star Debut of the Year 2012, will be performing live for the first time at IIFA with yet another sensational debut of 2012 – Ayushmann Khuranna. I am not sure how well both of them dance but this is indeed a fresh pairing and if they make it work, we might just be watching them on 70mm soon. Not a bad idea aye? Also amongst the newbies, we have Arjun Kapoor ! Arjun shot to fame with Ishaqzaade and gave an amazing performance as Aurangzeb early this year. Performing for the first time on the IIFA stage, Arjun will be seen donning a Dabangg avatar and dancing to a chosen medley of hit songs like the “Dabangg 2 title track”, “Main tera hero“, “Bachna ae haseeno” and “Senorita“.
THE COMIC SPELL
The funny duo Boman Irani and Vir Das will cast their comic spell on the audiences this year. Boman Irani is truly an intelligent, amusing and witty gentlemen and Vir Das is known as one of the few people in India to have impeccable comic timing. I’m excited to watch their witty repartee.
THE HOT STUFF
Deepika Padukone will be performing to hit dance numbers from her movies Cocktail and Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani. YJHD had some awesome dance numbers. Hope she does the “Balam pichkari” one! And if Deepika has “Balam Pichkari“, Jacqueline Fernandes will be performing to her latest hit “Jadoo ki jhappi” from Ramaiya Vastavaiya which has become quite popular in the past few days. The beautiful Dia Mirza will also be dancing to popular songs like “Mere khwabon mein jo aaye“, “Bole chudiyan“, “Mujhse shaadi karogi”, “Tenu leke main javanga” and “Gal mitthi mithhi bol“, all choreographed by Remo D’souza for the second day of the gala, July 5.
With all these stars under one roof for IIFA 2013, we are expecting nothing less than entertainment, entertainment and more entertainment ! (Psst.. why doesn’t anyone ask Vidya Balan to dance? Hmm…)
