Nine teams are participating for this year’s IPL would look to fight hard in what has been the toughest T20 league so far.
This season, IPL has nine teams competing for the ultimate glory. A total of 72 league matches will be played at 12 venues over 54 days. The nine IPL franchise will play 16 matches each (eight away and eight home) to claim the top spot in points table. Four play-off matches, including the final, will be played taking the total to 76 matches.
In the play-offs, the top two teams in the points table from the league will face each other in the Qualifier 1 play-off match and the winner will qualify for the final.
The teams that finish third and fourth in the points table will play each other in the Eliminator play-off match. The winner will then play against the loser of Qualifier 1 in the Qualifier 2 play-off.
The winner of Qualifier 1 and Qualifier 2 will face each other in the final of IPL 2013 at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on 26 May 2013.
