Okay, I got to be honest – when I first heard about Sonam Kapoor’s Khoobsurat, I wasn’t all that impressed. Sonam’s been in the industry for 7 years now and has yet to really make a mark for herself as a talented actress. No doubt she’s pretty and stylish, but the idea of a movie with her in the lead role did not quite amaze me.
BUT … woah, I was thoroughly impressed with the teaser and poster! The first look of Khoobsurat has definitely created quite a stir in the industry.The poster is funky, stylish and gives an emblematic feel of Disney’s previous productions ( Princess Diaries anyone? ). Funky sneakers, polka dotted jeans and a stylish bag with loads of accessories on her wrists – Khoobsurat definitely excited the fashion blogger in me! The teaser is also cute, funny and interesting.
Khoobsurat is the remake of the 1980 film of the same name starring Rekha. It is produced by Walt Disney, UTV Motion Pictures and Anil Kapoor Films. The film has been directed by Shashanka Ghosh and carries the tagline “the royal misfit”. The film also features Fawad Khan (he’s hot!), Kirron Kher, Prosenjit Chatterjee, Ratna Pathak and Aamir Raza Hussain.
Well here’s hoping Khoobusurat brings back Sonam with a bang.
