Lights, camera, action! These three words rightfully sum up what goes on a film or television set. But when you get to be a part of the experience in person, it gives you a completely different high! I was thrilled when I first stepped onto the sets of KumKum Bhagya and I thought I’d get you a sneak peek into the behind-the-scenes of Zee TV’s No. 1 show.
Okay so firstly, Kumkum Bhagya is being shot daily at Film City Mumbai, which is like the largest film studio complex in the city. It has many grounds, gardens, lakes, studios and several recording rooms that serve as the venue of many Bollywood film and TV soap shootings. People fondly call it the “Bollywood Museum”. Trust me when I say this, it is like an isolated island on its own, set amidst hills and a legit jungle. If you have been following me on Instagram and Twitter, you would have seen my live updates on location! It was super exciting to watch the entire crew prep up for the biggest twist on the show, that’s slated to air on 23rd June 2017.
But honestly, the reality of working on a TV show involves long hours, sometimes even outdoors, in crazy weather conditions and the “magic” takes a lot of work – different cameras, angles, all sorts of lights, makeup, cranes, trolleys. I am sure these behind-the-scenes photos will reveal a lot!
The crew is currently pumped up about shooting for a romantic wedding scene between the two lead characters in the jungle. In fact, they are supposed to get married in this iconic temple where a lot of other TV shows and movies have been shot before too!
Speaking on this turning point in the plot, lead actors Sriti Jha and Shabbir Ahluwalia say, “It’s a very major twist in the story that we’re headed into. Finally, the D-Day has arrived in Abhi-Pragya’s life when they will confess their love for each other and get married in a jungle. Noone has seen anything like this on Indian television!”
Just by the way – Sriti was an absolute sweetheart 🙂
