You know it’s summer when you step into Lakme Fashion Week 2016 Day 3. From Amit Aggarwal’s amazing line up of new-age gowns to Anita Dongre’s beautiful collection of printed lehengas with front slit kurtas, cholis, and draped dupattas – Lakme Fashion Week Day 3 was all about saying a BIG hello to summer!
Here are the designers who according to me were the show stealers of the day –
AMIT AGARWAL
Colours, mammoth dresses, suave pants, prints & textures – you name it all! Amit Agarwal’s show at the Lakme Fashion Week was truly something extraordinary – more of psychedelic fantasy. The show brief given to us was that the line was inspired by the magma – which essentially means volcanic eruption. And surely, the show kept me on the edge throughout – what I liked most about it? Neon!! Yes, neon was back and how. Makes me wonder if neon dresses are going to be the next in thing? I mean we’ve seen neon tops, accessories but I don’t think so we’ve really pushed the boundaries when it comes to full length neon garments. But I found these extremely stylish!
ANUSHREE REDDY
Now Anushree Reddy’s collection was such a Yash Raj Movie!! Why I say that? Well because see it for yourself –
This one was highly romantic for all the summer brides out there – Anushree Reddy’s presentation at the Lakme Fashion Week was reminiscent of the Mughal Era, full of feminine vibes, dreamy silhouettes took the front stage. I practically liked ALL the clothes from her line. SIGH *Goes into wanderland*la la la…
NISHKA LULLA
Who says nerds can’t be fashionable? Well, this is exactly the concept Nishka Lulla wanted to break with her collection at Lakme Fashion Week this season. Big rimmed specs, garments in shades of pastel especially white, yellow, she used a lot of cotton, denim and mesh in her designs. I loved the cropped tops and palazzos – her line looked so comfortable and apt for this season!
ANITA DONGRE
Now I couldn’t catch Anita Dongre’s show at the Lakme Fashion Week live but her presentation received rave reviews across the board. Entitled Love Notes, the female models were seen in colourful ensembles (psst I loved the skirts, all embroidered in silk.) and the male models were dressed in white kurtas & dhotis – pretty much contrasting from the female counterparts but they all looked so hot!
Well, on the whole I think Lakme Fashion Week 2016 Day 3 has really pushed the boundaries – not just in terms of concepts & designs but even the set creations – I mean when you see the stages, the ceiling, the lighting & the idea of incorporating technology into fashion – you’d really feel we have come of age, as an industry. It’s amazing LYF smartphones has come onboard to present an event of this scale. When I got a chance to take the Earth version back home to see it for myself, I explored it fully.
What I loved about the phone to a great extent was that it’s got a sturdy design, it looks classy, it’s got two back cameras which allows you to refocus and I love the display! It makes for an amazing viewing experience.
If you like what you see, check out the other versions ie. water, wind & flame LYF smartphones on their website.
Well, we are already midway into the fashion week & I can assure you a lot more will be happening tomorrow including some very special photo sessions! Will keep you guys posted.
