Of Drama & Dreams …

I grew up on a staple diet of Bollywood romances, imagining that someday I would fall madly in love and live happily ever after. In fact, DDLJ served as my template for the perfect romance. I would be on a vacation, meet a mysterious stranger & my own Raj Malhotra would sweep me off my feet. Personally, I enjoy the unrealism and escapism that Hindi films offer. I know a lot of people will beg to differ but there IS fun in kitsch, cheesiness, running around a field of flowers and breaking out into a dance sequence. I will be heart-broken if Bollywood someday ceases to be the dramatic routine that I love it to be.
Now just like my choice of films, I even like my jewellery to be a little dreamy and dramatic. To be honest, I hardly wear any accessories when I’m stepping out. But when I do, I like to go all out with statement pieces & this time round, I got a chance to work with Ayesha.
If you are a Bollywood junkie like I am, you would probably know that Ayesha accessories belongs to Ayesha Kapur, who starred opposite Amitabh Bachchan in Black. Yes, she played young Michelle McNally back in 2005 and now she has her own line of jewellery. How cool is that?
When I walked into their Phoenix Mills store, I got a chance to pick some very interesting pieces for myself. Take a look.
The collection at Ayesha is full of young & peppy accessories. And that’s exactly what the brand stands for. But I was also pleasantly surprised when I spotted a number of ethnic pieces with strong middle-eastern influences. I loved the fact how different each neckpiece was. They were classy, elegant, dramatic – all at the same time! Ayesha also has an amazing number of options when it comes to earrings – loved the ear cuffs especially!

So if you were to ask me what seals the deal for me at Ayesha, I’d say it’s their fabulous range – there’s something for almost everyone with an individualistic taste and with summer just around the corner, I urge you to also check out their SS’16 collection.
I chose to wear my Ayesha accessories with a pair of jeans and a simple tank top and it’s amazing how a very casual outfit can be easily jazzed up with pretty accessories.
And just like a masala Bollywood film, statement accessories will never let me down. This is also for those who stay away from a bit of drama in their wardrobe & dreams in their eyes. What do you live for then?
xoxo,
