Earlier this month, I was invited to one of my favourite Indian cuisine restaurants – Punjab Grill. This time, there was something very interesting to look forward to – their brand new vegetarian menu. Available at the Andheri West outlet from August 2016 onwards, there is an extensive range of dishes that I’m sure will be well received by many vegans & even non-vegetarians like myself. Here’s the full new vegetarian menu –
I didn’t get a chance to try everything in the above menu but I’ll tell you the ones I liked the most. Among the starters, I was served the sprouted daal & kaala chana chaat, daal ka shobra and dilli waali papdi chaat. Daal ka shobra was my favourite dish in the entire menu. For people who like to go for some soothing meals, this one is a must try.
After that, I got a chance to try an assortment of vegetarian kebabs – the malai tofu, the beetrook ki tikki & the seasonal green hara kebab with tomato chutney. I highly recommend the beetroot ki tikki. It was YUM!
For the mains, the hospitable staff at Punjab grill served a portion of tandoori gobhi mussallam, palak wali daal and tawa subziyaan along with a couple of naans. I liked all 3 dishes which were accompanied by some innovative mocktails, specially crafted by their in-house chef.
On the whole, I’d say Punjab grill has definitely experimented with their new Vegetarian menu – mixing both the traditional delicacies & modern dishes. As someone who thrives majorly on non-vegetarian food, I didn’t feel this menu was any less impressive! It will appeal to the most discerning of tastebuds and for me, it was a sheer gastronomic experience.
I cannot wait to go back for yet another hearty meal.
