December is here – to be exact, I am writing this blog on 21 December 2019. And I cannot believe there are just barely 10 days left in 2019. As much as I am excited for 2020, I have to admit that 2019 was a year that I’ll always remember as one of the best learning years of my life. As a full-time anchor, I often regret not giving enough time to blogging, writing, acting, dancing. But I think this year, I did push my boundaries and tried to make time for all the things I love. I must admit however that it did take up a lot of me – mentally, physically, emotionally. It is not easy to simultaneously juggle a few career paths, at once, without taking a break. Having been a person with definite plans and goals mapped out weeks and months in advance, this year, I was so engrossed with only deadlines. So much so that I missed paying attention to my mental health. It was tough and I felt lost many times! But I know the hard work will pay off and the dots will eventually connect. As far as 2020 is concerned, there are seemingly impossible challenges that are going to come my way. I do see myself taking bigger leaps in my life and I am really looking forward to this brand, new decade.
This year, my look books were mainly inspired by the very fact that women in the Indian workforce are so style conscious, especially in a male dominant corporate world. Therefore, I decided to put together a few looks every month to inspire them to try out looks that are simple, functional yet fashionable. For December, I decided to go with a smart-casual dress which can be worn to a workplace. It’s not too casual, not too dressy – but for those days when you want to keep it simple. Along with that, December in India is all about weddings and I happened to attend a few. For one such reception, I had so much fun putting together a sari-gown look. I can’t even begin to tell you how much I love this indigo and gold combination! Hope you like it as much as I do.
So yes, this is it! It’s my last blogpost of 2019… hope to come up with something new, next year! Till then, here’s wishing everyone a merry Christmas and a happy new year!
